The directory contest is getting hot with a lot of participants. Currently (at least at the datacenter I am hitting) it seems that Romow is leading the race. It even outranked the directory contest official site :). Of course some major link building has been done to achieve this.
Personally I am just doing a couple of minor experiments. Nothing major yet, I haven’t pointed a single link at my entry yet and although I have said I won’t I must say that I am a bit tempted to point some power juice to my entry. The only thing that I have done until now is that I played with different kind of descriptions and tags and observe the changes after the changes are cached. For example now I am at number 20 (including websites). Prior to that I was about 5 places behind. The change that I did to gain those five places was that I added a title within h3 tags above the description. So H tags still work.
Anyway I am mostly an observer for now, we will see what happens during the ending stages of the contest
