PR Update 29/09/2006

Since yesterday there seems to be a lot of PR movement (via Digitalpoint). Pagerank hasn’t really settled yet so the PRs we are seeing may not be final. However, I find it interesting that a lot of the major players in the directory scene are experiencing a drop of their PR. The biggest surprise is the drop of DMOZ’s and Yahoo! Directory’s PR. Both are moving towards a PR of 8 (they both used to have 9). Another major directory that is losing quite a bit of it’s PR seems to be Uncoverthenet that is losing two points and if things remain as they are now it will get a PR6 and it’s directory page will be a PR5.

Other noteworthy changes include that two of the most heavily marketed directories Alive Directory and Aviva Directory are finally getting the PR that everyone was expecting (PR7).

I suppose it would better to let things settle a bit more before I post my thought about this PR update and how it will affect new and established directories (like it or not it does affect them).
